Hosaka Kwai Judo Club – Coronavirus – Covid 19

Guidance on Covid-19 If you are unwell with cold or flu-like symptoms, please do not come on the mat to practice judo, even if you think it is not Corona Virus. The Corona Virus will be with us for several months and we need to be vigilant to avoid its spread. Judo is a contact sport, so it is even more important to take heed of the advice given by the Health Protection Agency and other professional bodies. The following pictorial guidance should be noted by all attending our Judo Club. The NHS advises you, among other things, to wash your hands regularly, cover your mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean. We expect the leisure services at the centre to keep the hall clean, but we all need to play a part as well. We put away the mats after practice each time. Some advice in the government action plan: – “Anyone with flu-symptoms should avoid the risk of spreading their infection, whatever that infection maybe, by staying at home and recovering”. Judo is a contact sport and would be a high-risk activity with such symptoms. – “As the situation progresses, we might advise the frail, elderly and those with pre-existing health conditions (to be defined) to stay away from gatherings as part of general advice aimed at minimising unnecessary contact with others” – “There is presently no reason people should stop doing their daily sport and physical activities as they normally would” Advice for players and wider guidance in schools, workplaces,...
