Macmillan Nurses 2013

Photographed left to right are Tom Brookes(Chief Coach at Hosaka Kwai Judo Club) and Harry Isalski (Secretary for Hosaka Kwai Judo Club)  presenting the cheques to Fran Mellor (Macmillan Cancer Support Wythenshawe Hospital. Donation to Macmillan Nurses from Sale Judo Club Hosaka Kwai Judo Club is one of the oldest martial arts clubs practising in the Sale Leisure Centre with a tenure spanning over 40 years. The clubs charismatic founder, Sensei Akinori Hosaka passed away in 2010. During his last months he received excellent support from the Macmillan nurses. As a way of thanking them, the Club tries to donate funds raised by the club each year. This year the club has managed to raise a total of £1240 which was made up of two cheques, one for £1000 from Hosaka Kwai Judo Club funds collected throughout the year. The second cheque for £240.00 was from Club Coach Richard Williams who raised the money when he ran the Great Manchester Run in May this year...

The next Hosaka Kwai Club Grading will be held on Saturday the 9th of November at  dojo at Sale Leisure Centre at 2:00 pm Get Directions Blue Judogi are not permitted in line with the Club Etiquette You must hold a current BJC Licence and have you attendance card up to date. Jane Bridge Returns to Hosaka Kwai

Jane Bridge Honorary Life Member of Hosaka Kwai paid a return visit to the club on the 18th of May. Jane won three European Championship gold medals and was the first Women's World Champion at under 48 kg. From 1993 to 1997 she coached the British Women's judo team.
